Revision as of 14:41, 13 May 2021

Welcome to Spoken Sanskrit! This class is specially designed for those who do not speak any of the modern Indian languages. Those who do speak a modern Indian language like Hindi, Marathi, Kannada etc already have familiarity with the sounds used in Sanskrit as well as much of the vocabulary; for such students many things are already understood and so the classes can be designed in a different way. Whereas for you -- for all those who do not know a modern Indian language -- we have designed the course to start from the very, very beginning with the alphabet, the sounds, and the basic fundamental vocabulary. So, welcome to Spoken Sanskrit!

There are three classes, all covering the same material, and occurring at different timings. Please join the timing the works best for you. You are welcome to join more than one session per week, or indeed to attend all three sessions if you like! Indeed we encourage attending more than one session per week for added practice. Each class is recorded, and the recordings (audio and/or video) are available for listening/watching below.

Here is the schedule of classes:

Session 01: Sanjeev Mahodaya Saturdays 6:00 AM EST (USA)

Session 02: Geeta Bhagini Sundays 12:30 PM EST (USA)

Session 03: Sumithra Bhagini Sundays 9:00 PM EST (USA)

Please calculate the timing in your local area on the basis of the timings given above. If you have any questions, or to register for and join the class, do not hesitate to contact me (Swarup) at dinbandhu@sprynet.com. All our classes are free.
