<big>Welcome to Spoken Sanskrit! This class is specially designed for those who do not speak any of the modern Indian languages. Those who do speak a modern Indian language like Hindi, Marathi, Kannada etc already have familiarity with the sounds used in Sanskrit as well as much of the vocabulary; for such students many things are already understood and so the classes can be designed in a different way. Whereas for you -- for all those who do not know a modern Indian language -- we have designed the course to start from the very, very beginning with the alphabet, the sounds, and the basic fundamental vocabulary.
